From New Delhi airport, take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (airport code – DED). The flight duration is around 55 minutes and generally costs around $60 one-way (www.spicejet.com).
When you arrive at Jolly Grant Airport, Our team will pick you up and bring you to Himalayan Holistic Yoga Ashram. We arrange complimentary pick-up for you on the first day of the course
About Preparing Your Papers for Visa and Insurance
You will require a visa in order to travel to India and there are different options you can choose from. If you want to come to India to do the Teacher Training Course, kindly ensure that you should visit on a tourist visa.
India is now considered as a low-risk country, so travel restrictions regarding COVID-19 have been relaxed. The travel requirements for international travellers visiting India are as under:
- Travellers will need to submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal.
- Travellers must mention the date of vaccination or the date of PCR test while filling in the self-declaration form.
- Travellers must hold a certificate of having completed the full primary immunisation schedule of COVID-19 vaccination or hold a negative report of a COVID-19 RT-PCR test done not earlier than 72 hours before arriving in India.
Most international visitors to India require a valid visa.
We recommend you to go for a ‘Tourist e-Visa’.
This is the most convenient option. E-Visa is valid for 30 days and you can apply for this visa completely online, thus avoiding the need to visit the Indian Embassy or send your passport. When you apply for the visa, you can mention the purpose for the visa as ‘Tourist’ if you plan some travel or ‘Short Yoga Course’, which has recently been added to the list of options.
Important: Apply for an e-Visa at least four days before the date of arrival!

Note: At present e-Visa entry is not available for citizens of the United Kingdom. So they need to apply for a regular tourist visa.

Regular tourist visa is generally Valid for either three or six months, so they are ideal if you are planning to stay in India for a longer period of time. You can mention “travel”, “yoga retreat”, “sightseeing” or “recreation” as the purpose of visiting India in the application form. Please avoid the term “study” in your visa application as this may cause the embassy to reject your regular tourist visa application and they may ask you to apply for a “student visa”.

In addition to providing support for yoga schools around the world, Yoga Alliance also provides support to students and teachers who wish to teach yoga. Yoga Alliance’s directory lists over 25000 yoga teachers and schools that meet globally recognized standards for training.
The Yoga Alliance recognizes the Himalayan Holistic Yoga. RYS issues a Certificate of Completion to all yoga teachers who have completed a specific yoga teacher training course, such as a 200 hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, or 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh. The RYT-200, RYT-300 or RYT-500 certification makes them qualified to become a yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
Your RYT 200 certification serves as an international recognition of your knowledge, experience and training, giving people confidence that you meet the Alliance’s standards.
