Panchakarma treatment in Rishikesh
Ayurveda Is considered to be the oldest system of medicine according to the holy scripture Atharvaveda. The basic principles of Ayurveda are described in the form of Sutras (the form of verses and short poems). This life science belongs to that branch of knowledge which deals with life and death which is ultimately about the welfare of human beings. Ayurveda is guided by the principles of nature and it is the ancient Indian holistic medicine, which is based on the philosophy of prevention followed by medicine and most importantly, it is free from any harmful side effects and has the ability to cure disease from its root cause.
Basic Ayurvedic philosophy works on the Panchabhutas which are the five physical elements called Vayu (vital force), Akasha (air), Tejas (certain minerals, acids, alkalis etc.) Jal (water) and Prithvi (organic matter), and It is believed that the quality, quantity and configuration pattern of these five elements have a profound effect on the well-being of human beings at any given point of time.
The whole concept of healing revolves around the balance of all these five elements. In Ayurveda, the combination of these principles are classified into three categories that are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Imbalances in these three are known as Tridoshas (in Sanskrit, the “Tri” means three and “Doshas” means disorders). So this way Tridoshas means imbalance in the three: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
VATA : (Sky & Air) It is the energy of wind, the component of the body that generates strength and inspiration and the body-component that carries oxygen to the organs of the body to activate their biological functions.
PITTA :(Tejas) The energy of fire. It is a combination of ingredients used to assimilate food and turn it into components of the body.
KAPHA : (Earth and Water) The energy of water, Kapha is a combination of ingredients used to structure and maintain the body.
